Dog Obedience & Behavior

Even though countless people treat their dogs as humans with understanding beyond their means & then expect human behavior in return, dogs are in fact not little people in fur coats, they are wonderful animals who can be the most forgiving and loyal companion a person could ever have. Dog obedience training is easy once you know what your dog needs.

You too can have strong bond with your dog.  AT K9 Coach San Diego Dog Training Boot Camp we will teach you to understand how your dog thinks.  Dogs do not ponder the past or future, they simply think of every one in terms of leader & follower.  In our dog obedience training camps, you’ll learn how to become the leader of your pack with private & semi-private follow-up training & access to our private online training center, plus live web cast with top professional dog trainers.

How to Train a Dog

When you get a pup it is so small & cuddly, your pup jumps up it’s cute and you pick them up, hold, hug and pet them.  They bark & nip you, run around like a wild child and it is OK. If your dog is not a small breed, this behavior becomes hazardous for grown-ups and children alike as their physical size makes these actions painful for obvious reasons.  Even with small dogs this type behavior can be unpleasant. Now, how are you going to train your dog?

Whether it’s behavior modification or basic obedience dog training; instead of comforting your dog when they are sad, scared or angry, which is encouraging fearful or aggressive behavior in the same way we encourage jumping up & overexcitement when they are a pup: Reward only good behavior with affection & praise. If your dog is not exhibiting good behavior, and you can’t figure out how to train your dog to have good behavior, call us!  At K9 Coach San Diego & Temecula you can learn how to communicate with your dog from a qualified professionals.

It is easy to say, reward your dog for good behavior, but don’t think your dog is going to figure this out on his or her own, you have to show them the correct behavior.  In Temecula & San Diego you don’t have to worry about how to train your dog… we’ll get it done for you and we won’t have to use correction with any type of force, such as choking them or any other painful type action. Learn the most humane use of dog training collars at K9 Coach, Dog Training Boot Camps for San Diego & Temecula, where dog obedience training is made easy.

Find the Right Dog Trainer

Beware of dog trainers who lack the big “picture” when it comes to dog obedience and it’s relation to dog psychology.  Your dog needs a leader, this means you have to learn to effectively communicate and show them the right thing to do. Again, and again and again, in fact many dog experts agree it can take over 2000 times of seeing the correct picture related to a command for a dog to master proper behavior.

In our dog training boot camps, we use a technique often referred to as “flooding”.  This means simply that we show your dog, over & over & over, the correct picture of proper behavior in your day-to-day household & outside activities.  We only train a few lucky dogs at a time, so your dog will have a solid foundation and understanding of how to “do the right” thing in any situation.  With the hard work done at training camp, you can enjoy walking your dog & giving them the “work” they need to be a well-balanced happy, obedient dog once back in your home.
